Regional Progress Reports
Momase
  • Madang – There are a few teams yet to be airlifted from their polling locations in Middle Ramu, Usino-Bundi and Rai Cost. We anticipated that these tasks will be completed today, or tomorrow at the latest.
  • ESP – All other electorates are progressing with counting expect for Angoram Open electorate which is still awaiting payment for the counting venue. A cheque is being raised today to pay for the venue hire.
  • WSP – All polling activities complete for province and counting will commence this week.
  • Morobe – 1 team in the Aseki area requires extraction. It is anticipated that these tasks will be completed today, or tomorrow at the latest. Count continues for Nawae.
  • Counts for Bulolo, Huon Gulf, Markham, Finschaffen, Kabwum and Tewai-Siassi are expected to commence today.
  • Count for Lae expected to commence tomorrow while count for Menyama expected to commence on Wednesday.
Highlands
  • Chimbu – Polling continues. Of the 451 ballot boxes, 116 had been returned to counting centers/police stations as at 1400hrs yesterday in preparation for counting.
  • All remaing ballot boxes are expected to be returned to secure storage later this afternoon.
  • Provincial management team to focus on making payments to polling teams over next 2 days.
  • WHP – Preparations were underway for counting to commence today.
  • Enga – Counting for all the electorates in progress.
  • Hela – Counting to recommence today and will be correcting issues in the Provincial count.
  • SHP – counting in progress except Ialibu-Pangia which has made PNG’s first declaration over the weekend.
  • EHP – Working towards commencement of polling on Wednesday 11 July. Teams expected to commence moving into locations tomorrow Tue July 10.
  • Jiwaka – Ballot boxes remain in containers in Minj due to lack of transportation equipment and as such counting is yet to start.
Southern
  • Western – 1 team in Morehead is expected to complete polling today to conclude all polling in Western Province. Ballot boxes will to be transported to Daru today for safe keeping in preparation for counting. Fixed wing support has been dispatched today to Nomad Station/Kiunga/Lake Murray areas to retrieve polling teams.
     
  • Gulf – 1 team at Tobara and 1 team at Kuru in the Kikori) are still polling and are expected to complete today to conclude all polling in Gulf. 2-3 teams require air extraction and it is anticipated this task will be completed today. Work underway to commence count on Wednesday 11 July.
  • Milne Bay – Polling completed. Open electorate counts expected to start today but did not due to a petition by some candidates. The Provincial count is expected to commence tomorrow.
  • NCD – Counting continues in all the three Open electorates and the Provincial electorate.
  • Northern – Counting has commenced for the 2 Open and the Provincial electorate and the results are being received.
  • Central – Counting for the all the electorates commenced today at Murray Barracks, Taurama Barracks and Kilakila Secondary School.
NGI
  • Bougainville – Count for South and Central Open electorates expected to commence 6pm today while count for North Bougainville Open electorate is now expected to not commence until polling in the atolls is completed.
  • Manus – Counting continues. PNGEC HQ staff to remain in Manus until Tuesday.
  • ENB– Counting commenced today.
  • WNB– Counting continues.
New Ireland – Counting for all the electorates continues.
